Meet Karen from Simply Lovely!
Age: 25

Hello there! This is my very first guest blog post and I’m so excited to be a part of Jenn’s Dream Big Series!

My blog is called Simply Lovely and it is a place where my ideas, inspiration and interests come together. Basically, it is my creative outlet for sharing fashion, beauty, DIY projects, card-making, recipes and also little bit of my personal life experiences thrown in for good measure!

Top 3 Personal Dreams:
1. Run a marathon. I love running; it is a major stress reliever for me! Last summer I ran a 10k race … So my next goal is to run a half marathon, and then eventually the marathon.

2. Travel to Europe. I would love to go back to Europe (I went to Germany a few summers ago) and tour around! I want to see all the historical spots and enjoy the food and culture. Something that I’ve always wanted to do.

3. Have a shop on Etsy. Expressing my creativity through making cards and any other crafty goodness is a dear love of mine. Having enough time to build up enough to sell would just be so fun for me- I’m hoping to start soon!

What is the inspiration behind your dreams?
My inspiration for these goals mostly comes from people in my life who have already done these things! Inspiration to run a marathon comes from not only wanting to get healthy personally, but also a co-worker of mine is a great runner and I would love to be as well. So many friends have traveled, a lot of them right out of high school, but I decided to go straight to school. I regret that a little bit. It has just always been a dream of mine to see all the sights Europe has to offer! Finally my inspiration for starting a crafty shop on Etsy comes from all of the many ladies that I’ve met here on Blogger that have shops. Definitely something that I want to work towards!

Best advice for someone trying to reach his or her dreams.

I think the best advice that I can give to someone who is trying to reach their dreams is to not give up. Maybe that is what everyone says, but honestly, for me this has always been what has brought me through and allowed me to reach my goals. For example, when I was training for that 10k race, there were so many times when I wanted to give up because it was “too hard” but I refused to think that way! It’s up to you to decide!
