Jennifer Blake: You are meant to be here.

You are meant to be here.

"I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better."
- Maya Angelou

This weekend was a good one, not in the sense that we adventured off to exciting places, but that we dug deep.
We talked and talked and talked some more. We ugly cried (well one of us), we laughed, we smiled.
We let go of fears. We let in dreams, even dreams that scare us. We laid it all out. We moved forward and let the past stay where it is. We said "hello" to today and said "see ya soon enough" to the future.
We needed this weekend, we have been hard on each other lately, and we work better as a team, not as individuals being hard on each other.
We have big huge scary dreams for the future. We are excited.
We reminded each other this weekend that the future will be here soon enough, and right now we need to be happy and present. We will never get these days back and we need to cherish them.
We reminded each other that when things are bad or messy there is no way around them, you have to go through them. If you go through them, together as a team, they will get better.
We reminded each other that shutting down or shutting out is not the answer. The answer is communication, always communication.
We reminded each other that we are young. We are selfish. Marriage is not always easy, but we can do this. We love each other and if we act as a team there is nothing we cannot tackle.
We reminded each other that it is important to never lose your sparkle. Sparkle is important.

So you. Yes, you. If you are tired, struggling, need a boost, or are as happy as can be. Always remember...

You are meant to be here. Right here. In this moment. In this place.
You are good enough. You are simply, enough.
Sparkle so bright that others want to sparkle.
Love and be open to being loved.
Dream so big it scares you. Those are the best dreams.
Don't let the future paralyze you.
Remember the moment right now, right here.
You will never get this moment back.
If the moment is hard, let it be hard.
If the moment is good, let it be good, and remember it.

  1. This is a very sweet post. I always have to remind myself to live in the now. I'm always saying "well... I can't wait until (insert something great) happens! And my husband always says "something great is happening... look around!"

It can be hard to appreciate all that you love, and force yourself to go through things that aren't so lovely.

  2. SUCH a great post. I needed to hear some of those words...and maybe need an ugly cry too? lol

Connecting with you is my favorite. Thanks for stopping by!
