Jennifer Blake: January: What I'm Reading

January: What I'm Reading

January 20, 2014

I have been working my way through Allegiant for a little while now, I just cannot get into it the way I devoured the first two in the series. Maybe I don't want it to end? Who knows, but it is taking me a while to get through it.

The Desire Map was sent to me by a lovely lovely lady named Hannah, we are motivating each other through the year on sticking with our goals and living a healthier lifestyle. I adore Danielle Laporte, her book Fire Starter Sessions was very motivational and I am finding this one to be the same way!

Great Gatsby stole my heart many many years ago as one of my all time favorite books. I have not read much else by Fitzgerald, but The Beautiful and Damned has been on my list for quite some time. It has not captured my heart quite like Gatsby and it was a little slow to start, but I am not really loving the characters and the portrayal of the time period. Fitzgerald has done it again!

What's on your bedside table or on your January reading list? Have you read any of the ones I am working my way through?

  1. I am in the same boat as you. I plowed through the first two books and it's taken me at least a week to get halfway through Allegiant. Sooo many people suggested just skipping it because it's not good but its the last book in the series so need that closure!

  2. I couldn't skip it, not after reading the first two! I plan to finish by the end of January hopefully! I cannot wait until Divergent comes out in March!

  3. I'm reading The Paris Wife, a fictional tale of Hadley Richardson and her husband Ernest Hemingway. Next up, I plan to read Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald.

  4. I love these posts!! I am looking forward to Insurgent whenever the library gets it in! But, at the moment, I'm finishing up Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg and getting into And the Mountains Echoed by Khalid Hosseini. And . . . with my husband we are working through Gospel Powered Parenting. Pretty much loving all of them!!

Connecting with you is my favorite. Thanks for stopping by!
