Jennifer Blake: Dear Eloise // Week 8

Dear Eloise // Week 8

November 7, 2017

Dear Eloise,

Right now your favorite thing to do is wear just your diaper and kick your little legs a million miles a minute. You are still waking up 3-4x a night, but every time I get up to feed you, I open your swaddle and you stretch your arms out wide and give the biggest smile. Your smiles, sweet girl, are my favorite. You are growing sweet girl, I love your little leg rolls and arm rolls, and don't even get me started on you cheeks. I spend half the day just kissing your sweet cheeks. You change a little and grow a little every day. I sometimes wish I could freeze time, slow it down, but then I wouldn't get to watch the magic of you growing and learning every day.

My favorite thing right now is watching you take in this world. Everything is new to you and you look at the world with these big wide eyes. Sometimes you look terrified, stunned, or confused but most of the time you look content and happy. You love taking walks and looking up at the sky. You love laying on the floor and tracking your dad and I as we walk around the room. You are starting to like your swing more and more, especially if we have the white twinkle lights on, you love the lights. Christmas is going to be so wonderful.

I can feel the weeks passing faster and faster as I get ready to go back to work in 4 short weeks. I cry every time I think about it. I can't imagine spending my days without you and only seeing you for a short few hours each day. I want to show you how you can do it all, raise a family, have a career, and a life outside of those two things, but right now I just want to hold you forever and never let you go. I know it will all work out and that my time with you will just be that much more special.

I love you my sweet girl, more than I can even put into words.

Love always,
your mama
